Cedar Key 11/14

Post by JC_UF_ITK »

My buddy Dave and I decided to hit Cedar Key today to try for some reds and trout. We ended up with only one red at 24 1/2" and caught close to 40 trout with 5 being over 15". Dave also managed to catch one nice black sea bass. The redfish was caught on topwater and just about all of the trout were caught on gulps under a cork.

That is a nice sea bass! Me and a friend have heard a lot of chatter about Cedar Key but we can't seem to find it. Where is it?

Take US 19 south (or north depending on where you are coming from) to SR 24. Head west on SR 24 and it'll dead end in Cedar Key. Let me know if those directions aren't clear and I'll try to get a map for you.
