Report in bite at Econfina
Anyone heard how the bite is at Econfina/Fenholloway this week? I have not been in about 6 weeks because of hunting and offshore. I am planning for Saturday or Sunday, just wanted to see if the reports are good, but I guess it really doesnt matter, still gonna go...

We fished the Enky last Saturday and the bite was ON and it should stay that way for a few more weeks, so long as we don't get many nights at freezing temps. Go catch'em up.

As always they come and go in the creeks.
Too warm yet to stay there.
Find the rock piles and off-shore bars and sand holes.
They will be there.
This information is $50 bucks.
Specific information cost more.

I found a 2000 dollar rock pile not too far from the closest bird rack near rock island last year, might have to see if i can catch some there... At least the tides look promising this weekend, but the northeast/east wind will prolly have some water blown out, hopefully not too much tho.

Is your boat resting against the rock pile in your pic? If so , I can see why you call it $2000.kirt123 wrote:I found a 2000 dollar rock pile not too far from the closest bird rack near rock island last year, might have to see if i can catch some there... Kirt123:
My wife and I went out of Keaton yesterday (Thursday). We always go to Rock Island and fish. The bite was slow for us. It was 1:00 p.m before we limited out but with some nice fish. Three were in the 16" range with seven from 18" to 20". They were hard for us to find and just one short "Hot" period.
The wind was blowing just right to drift the south side of Rock Island and the next little Island up close in 3' - 3.5 foot water. We caught some trout casting both directions, toward the island and away from it on the other side of the boat. Seems Shrimp color and Char/Dimond Assassin on a cork worked best for us. I threw some plugs but didn't do well with them.
Hope this helps. Every day is different for us. One day they bite one color and two days later another.
We stopped at Spring Warrior and caught three more keepers plus some shorts but the bite was slow there as well.

My little cousin in the pic just had to see an island.....
