Wife and I went to Econfina today, put in at low tide and headed toward Aucilla. Not enough water to run in, found some 3-3.5 ft. water and got a couple big trout on plugs- catch jr. and redfin. Wife lost couple nice ones on a Yozuri plug. It's amazing how different an area looks on low tide- we floated over several old ghost traps and little rockpiles out there, seemed to have fish around them. The bite slowed about 11 o'clock, we went over closer to Aucilla and caught some small pins, no trout. The bite was slow, fished another hour and got 1 keeper flounder, throwback Spanish. Wound up going back to area we fished this morning and got into some nice trout-2 over 21 '' and several smaller ones. Another flounder and a big blue. Had big Spanish cutoff. The trout had no pattern- we got 2 on plugs, 2 on jigs, and 4 on live pins. The live pins definately won out today.
Wind got up about 3 o'clock and we'd had enough by them anyway. A good day on the water, some of the biggest trout we caught all year. Fisherman 989 was there today also , he and his partner fished further North toward Aucilla and got 2 good keepers, found some smaller trout close to shore.

Just couldn't get anything started close in where we been doing real well 10 days ago. Got several good hits on Catch 2000's but they wouldn't hang on. The 2 keepers we got were both caught on red/white mirrorlures..floters.
Lots of shorts...some on curlytail jigs. Didn't go nearly out as far as the Reb did. He was at least 2 miles out in 9-10 feet at times.
