Fishing the Waters to the West

Post by LucWilliams »

As many of you guys know I attend UWF in Pensacola and I play soccer over here. Now that our season is over I have been able to do much more fishing. Had a chance last weekend to fish the Biloxi Marsh with one of my teammates in his skiff. That place is unreal. There are so many fish over there and they are not spooky at all. Anyone that ever has a chance to fish it should take the opportunity. We did all sightfishing in my buddy's Actioncraft. Caught about 15 reds total, all good fish. We had 2 or 3 doubles and even one triple. I got my biggest red to date at about 20 pounds. It was an awesome experience and it is looking like I'll have to get a skiff I can sightfish out of back home.

AWESOME fish indeed! But I don't see any "reds" :smt017 All those fish looking silver to this Econfina devotee.

Luc,
Great catch on the Redfish, totaly amazing considering Mississippi has a limit of three per person w/ 1 over 30", Alabama being three per person w/ 1 over slot and Lousiana being a five person limit w/ 1 over. Good thing we have all these folks protecting our Redfish or we would be in the same shape as those Redfish depleted states.

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

Nice fish! I make it over that way every few months as I used to live there and have family & friends still there. Lots of great fishing for sure. Some big trout in the Pascagoula river in the winter time...
