Where's the Grass

Post by MAJMPS4 »

Hey whats goping on with the grass in the 3-6 waters around Rock Island. For some reason between the islands and the west rack it is no longer there of I am just blind. Have had trouble finding it the last two times there.

Side not planning on returning this Saturday. Any suggestions for that area. Whether to go west to Econfina or Suth towards Spring Warrior

That area seems to always be a little barren to me :smt102

They seem to be catching them between Aucilla and Rock Island...I have not heard of anything from Rock Island to Keaton

Just an observation but I think the grass is "behind" this year.

The grass is behind this year in the bays in the Panama City area also. We attribute it to a cooler winter and spring. (But we ain't scientists) The catch is also down and the size of the fish also seems to be smaller than in the past couple of years.

I believe the last time I went out of St.Marks, the grass seemed to be doing fairly well, but there isn't very much grass once you get near the mouth of the Aucilla to the other side of Rock Island. I found some sparse patches today that were holding lots of fish, but it took a lot of liquid gold(that's gas to those that did'nt know) to find it. I guess we just need some consistently warm weather and clear water and hopes and prayers every night, and just maybe it will hurry back :-D .
