Rae and I took advantage of the good weather Saturday and caught the rising tide around 11. Started off on the flats due to a lack of water with no luck on topwaters despite the flat surface. Went into the creeks as the tides rose and worked several bars at several mouths with absolutley no luck. Lamenting our poor luck we decided to call it around 4. Rae picked up a Trout on the way back in and we decided to deal with the chilly weather a bit longer and try another creek or two. Good idea. The tide crested and the wind died as the sun set. Picked up a couple short Reds at the mouth of a creek, followed by an extended fight with one that got away. Started trolling her around a couple corners and she picked up a 24", her first Redfish! What a fight it was and a perfect first Red experience. Within 2 minutes of the first, Rae picked up another 24", followed by 2 more that were shorter. All on ADL spoons. Day started with dedication to get Rae that first Red and ended with a 16" Trout and two 24" Reds on ice; 4 Reds for another day!
