A buddy from Mariana joined us.
Scouted a spot and set out decoys without much action for a while- a few buffleheads come in the decoys and we knocked down 3.
Then we had a flight of Redheads divebomb us- four hunters and four redheads went down!
A little lull in the action and we see some big white birds flying toward us.
The were coming down a grass line we were set up on and Toden says really loud- "thats not ducks"
One of the others and I say down its geese.
There was a group of six coming right to us. They were 10 yards tops when we shot and we all dropped one!

I go out to pick them up and we have 2 Ross geese and 2 Snow Geese... I grab one of the Ross Geese and see this:
One is a $100 Reward band! With all the excitement we are not sure who killed it so the $100 is going toward decoys for the crew.
Entered the numbers on the band and found out the bird was banded in 2003 in North Canada - almost to Greenland!
Total for the day was 3 Buffies, 8 Redheads and 4 Geese...
The hero shot- 2 RedHeads each and our Geese

Absolutely the best day on the water this year!
