Motor Problems; Sigh of Relief

Post by Ron Wilson »

Had problems with the motor (Merc Optimax, 115 hp). Motor having problems starting and staying started (like not getting fuel, bad fuel, or something). Took it in this morning wondering if I've been bitten by the ethanol bug, despite putting stabil in since the first tank. Got a call late this afternoon worried about potential bad news and ensuing costs. Turns out the coils and coil harness were bad (apparently this has been a problem on some of the Opti's). Under warranty and no cost. Man, this Monday turned out O.K. :D
