Well decided I needed a mental health day from work and needed to get more hours on the new engine. Took a friend, who also needed a mental health day, and went exploring. Left the Fort around 9:30 and went out on a flat calm morning. Saw a manatee in the main channel about 1/2 mile from the Fort. Went out to the west flats, saw a couple of large tarpon who were not interested in what we had. Decided to try out at the St. Marks reef- not much there. Trolled a little on the way back and each of us hooked up with grouper- could not stretch them to make them legal. Headed toward Gray Mare for some trout or macks- small and not legal. Sea breeze really picked up about 1:30. We decided to fish the west flats again. Got ladyfish, blue runners, pinfish, and several cutoffs even with heavy leaders. Finally landed a 24" trout with a second slighly smaller one escaping at the boat. Headed back with enough for supper.

I enjoy the exploration days. I'm sure you and your buddy had a relaxing Mental health day. Some times that's exactly what all of us need to do.
What was I supposed to do today?
