Left Shields Marina at 9:45 , went to look for a friends pin fish trap, no longer where it should be. Had plenty of frozen bait,so headed out . First spot 32feet deep 16miles south ,grunts and rock bass. Headed 4 miles south 40 feet ,found live bottom put 3 keeper grouper in box, headed another 6 miles south to 50 ft deep once again just found live bottom put 2 more grouper in box, girlfriend getting frustrated, she has not caught a single keeper yet to my 5, she now has just lost her big fish of the day, so she decides to go up front take a nap and sun, bite has slowed. I let her get good and asleep let out more anchor rope , now it is close to 3:oo, suddenly bite is back on, then I wake up the frustrated one, honey!!!!!! you might want to try it again? Thank goodness, she lands a 12 pound red grouper, thankyou lord!!!!!!!!! Now everybody is happy!!!! She winds up catching 2 more keepers. Final count 9 grouper 5 gags, 4 reds . we had five that went25 to26 inches, the red was 26 and fatttt! We caught numerous shorts. All fish caught on no given numbers just found live bottom. Seas very calm and clear. You could look at bottom and see whether or not it was dark or light, great day
