Restrictions around Dog Island

Post by DeanMac »

Question about Dog Island?
I was talking to the Ranger over at SGI State Park, he said, the property owners over at Dog Island had aquired some 500 foot lease around the island and you could not go beach your boat over there anymore. Get caught and you will be fined. I searched the web and could not find anything about this. Since most of the island is not public owned I don't see how that could be possible. The Ranger said, the white trash bash was the main reason for this happening. Last Summer we would go over and moor the boat for a day on the beach, sure don't need a hassle or fine.

Anyone heard anything about this?

I can find nothing on it. I would ask the ranger to show me, in writing, where it says that
“Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.”

I don't know about the ranger at SGI, but I do know that one of those SOB's working at Cape San Blas will lie like a dang dog.

I think any lease of public land like that would have to be made public.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!
