May ride over to Econfina on Thursday to try for a redfish if the weather holds. Ive had some luck using a Excalabur(sp)? swim'n image but thats all I have for the reds. Whats are some good plugs to try? What works for you guys? TIA

Do any of you use the Capt. Mike's spoons?
Some of us have good luck using them in the Panama City-St. Joe area. I like the weedless (single hook) willow spoon. In shallow water I'll start retrieving it as soon as it hits the water. I once thought you could reel it too fast but not so. (The web site says retrieve slow, but in the places I fish you'll come back with a glob of vegetation if you do that).

DOA shrimp on corks or cigar shaped Cajun thunders have worked for me in the past. If you get into a school of Redfish and they are running up at the top of the water, they will probably hit about anything.
Live Shrimp works also under the same setup you use for trout; however, you will probably be fishing much shallower for Redfish than trout so you won't need too long a leader below the Cajun Thunder.
