How are they going to effect you and going fishing? Myself I'm probly going to have to go less and skip McD's coming and going. Or bring another person willing to pitch in for gas.
None at all I don't hunt, golf or anything else, so it's my only form of relaxing and I won't allow the price of gas keep me from doing it as much as I want to
“Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.”
We all share the cost when our crew fishes the NFGFC tournaments but when I'm not fishing with them I turn to my kayak.
The fishing is just as good, you work up a powerful thirst , burn a few calories before satisfying that powerful thirst and it's fun.
I feel for those in boats during these times. The price of gas affects so much of what we have to do and what we like to do.
Unfortunately, the way prices are headed it could be a factor in my fishing/boating decisions. I tend to run solo or take the family out, so it's all out of pocket for me. When I do have guests on board, it's usually "first timers with their families", etc, so I don't ask (or expect) them to pony up any money. I enjoy seeing these folks getting into fishing and enjoying the natural beauties we are blessed to have near us in God's Country...
Yes as gas goes up sales decrease about I'm guessing 10%. Those who still have a job they still come bye, those that don't I see less when gas is up. You run your boat this past week end ?
I'll just fish my 14 footer with 35 HP instead of the 18 footer with the 90 HP more. Catch just as many in the small boat as I do with the big one anyway. Just means less guest in my boats now.
My kayak doesn't use gas, and I can fish all day on 1.5 gallons of gas with my Honda 20. Since I only live 15 minutes from the coast, and my boat only weighs a few hundred pounds, I don't think the gas prices will affect my fishing anymore than it affects any other aspect of my life.
But that doesn't mean that I don't think the gas prices SUCK!
I'd buy a diesel and make my own fuel, but all of the resataraunts in town already have someone they give their used oil to
Guess I just need to make more money.
