RAMP AT THE LIGHTHOUSE POOL
I HEARD THAT THE RAMP AT THE LIGHTHOUSE POOL WAS CLOSED, DOES ANYONE KNOW FOR SURE IF THIS IS TRUE OR NOT. I AM PLANNING MY FIRST TRIP IN ABOUT A YEAR AND WAS GOING TO USE THE LIGHTHOUSE RAMP TO LAUNCH. ANY INFORMATION ON THIS WILL GREATLY BE APPRECIATED.

Re: RAMP AT THE LIGHTHOUSE POOL
I talked to a employee of the SMR today and ask him how the ramp was going, he just looked at me and said " No wonder we're going broke in this country" He couldn't tell me when it would be open.
Re: RAMP AT THE LIGHTHOUSE POOL
I hadn't heard that. What are they doing to it? I was wanting to take my new stepson out in the Gheenoe for some trout and sightseeing after it got a little warmer. Good thing about the Gheenoe is I can drag it off the bank by the lighthouse and launch it from there. I wonder if that's legal?

Re: RAMP AT THE LIGHTHOUSE POOL
His words "the best boat ramp in three counties with shallowest canal" Said it's not being dredged.
Re: RAMP AT THE LIGHTHOUSE POOL
If they're not dredging - what are they doing?
Re: RAMP AT THE LIGHTHOUSE POOL
Last fall I looked at the ramp and it looked like it was in great shape. What was wrong with it??? Seems dredging the canal would have been very beneficial but that would require common sense from a government agency... I don't guess they added any more parking spaces while they were at it did they?

I know there was some busted concrete at the end of the ramp on the right side.At low tide you could get your trailer hung up.Could only use one side at the end of last summer.(at low tide)

Re: RAMP AT THE LIGHTHOUSE POOL
We went up the 'canal pool' on Tuesday while we were out to go check it out. They have boom placed in front of the ramp to prevent too close of access via water. It looks as though they'll be replacing the ramp and changing the grade.
As mentioned earlier, there were several holes and angled cracks that would cause the trailers to get hung up on. The ramp was accessible and worked fine, but anything lower than .4 low tide made it almost unusable.
