3/16-Oyster Bay

Post by LucWilliams »

Fished with my Dad out of Oyster Bay this morning. It didn't take us long to find fish and we stayed on em pretty much all day. We ended up with 15 keeper spanish and one keeper trout. We brought home 6 of the spanish and the trout. Most of our spanish were about 15, with the biggest being around 18. My Dad lost a pig of a spanish next to the boat. The trout was about 17.5 inches. Also saw the first bluefish of the year. All fish were caught on shrimp except for the blue which ate a mirrodine. The flats explosion certainly isn't far away. Checked one of my redfish spots but it wasn't holding much besides some mullet and a few sheepshead. Once again thought it was a bit windier than the weatherman called for. Fishin again in the morning with one of my buddies, ill post something if we find em. Gotta love spring break!
