Fish are there and the spring flats explosion is so close!

I took a "Realtor Saturday" off and went fishing with my buddy Michael on his birthday.
Fish were scattered and we caught them from 3' to 8' on jigs, jigs under corks and shrimp on the bottom.
We caught a mixed bag- Spanish, Speckle Trout, White Trout, Sugar Trout.

I'm looking forward to the next month- fishing will just get better!

Good report bman, I couldn't agree more. I may have seen you fishing out of the fort if you were there today. Me and my partner ended up with 12 keeper spanish and 1 keeper red, but we also fished oyster bay later in the afternoon.

Barry, Forgive me for my inexperience, but how do you tell the difference between white trout and sugar trout? - Steven.

No Worries- Add the fact that locals call them different names and it gets complicated.
Sand trout look identical to speckle trout but there are no spots. Best eaten Fresh- I usually dont keep them for the freezer.

Sugar trout- or Silver Perch are smaller fish with larger scales. They are panfish size and very tasty when fried
