There are two ways out of the Suwannee, east pass and west past both lead out to the oceaand both can be tricky at low water as they both need to be dredged.I have had to get out and push the boat at low water coming in the east pass even though I was in the channel. I love to fish suwannee as it is a beautiful river, just watch out for floating logs. First time down I would use a guide and John Farmer is one of the best. He is a lot of fun to fish with and will find the fish ,if they are to be found. He will also tell you if the fish are biting and it is worth coming for. 2 restaurants in suwannee, Salt creek for dinner and The cafe for breakfeast. have fun
