St. Marks Flats 4/3

Beautiful day on the water. Poor cooperation from the fish however. I was very surprised to bring an alligator gar up to the boat. Has anyone seen or caught a gar out on the flats????

Pretty regular at St Marks. Don't ever seem to catch them, just hook them and pull them to the boat.
Ducks, turkeys, flats fishing. Who has time for golf?

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

I've seen lots of long-nosed gar out in that area in the especially in the sand holes out on the flats. Once I took my buddy from saltwater fishing for the first time. He hooked one and when it came out the the water and shook it's head, he said, "Look I've hooked a Marlin!" I razzed him for a long time about that. ha ha

I'm glad your Uncle could get away from feeding the USA for a bit and come down here and relax and land a few.
