RED TROUT SHOOTOUT, AND THE WINNER IS?

St. Marks Refuge Creeks report:

Got a 5-4 redfish early on a frisky mudminnow (no culling!), then spent the rest of the day pulling in 18-22 inch trout that didn't care what came at them. Swimming jigs actually outperformed freelined minnows in the creeks that day. The slot trout were suicidal. Lost a gigantic (6+ lbs, I know what they look like, see the picture at Jerry's) wallowing trout on a saltwater bass assassin with a missed net attempt at boatside at 2pm. Glad nobody was around, cuz my rare cussing was at full throttle. It is REALLY hard to net your own fish out of a canoe.

Left early, but guessing I finished around 20th with a total under 9 pounds. Had to get home and mow the yard, cuz the wife said no winnings = chore time.

Hats off to the winners...I'D RATHER BE WADING!

Snatch and I finished tied for 8th with 10.1 lbs, but lost the tiebreaker by a few minutes so we ended up 9th. Tough day of fishing, but at least we made some scratch to pay for the trip.

Chewy and Wiwi Tied for 10th with 9.7bs.... We weighed in last we where just out of the money.

Me and my partner Kneeknocker had a great day of red fishing! Caught so many reds it was sick, ended up weighing a 6.6 red but the trout were really tough. Could not catch a trout over 19'', but had a good time. Congrats to the winners!
