Carrabelle Report for 4/18/11

Post by redfishfun23 »

Afternoon evryone. For what it is worth I put in at Lanark 8 am and heading across to the reef to look for a redfish......nothing biting so GO WEST I did pass the river entrance a ways to one of my favorite trout spots. First cast using a popper and gulp anf trout on, third cast trout on, and so on until 9 in the boat. Here is the glass half full point of view, I had caught 9 trout. Now the half empty all were between 12-14 1/2. So I tried another spot hoping to upgrade and no luck. Went back to the first spot maybe the big kids would come out and play.......nope. Caught 18 more from the same spot and everyone were from the same cookie cutter. But I had the day off and caught 27 trout, 3 ladyfish,1 bluefish, and a sailtcat. Pretty good day all round!! FYI the second time around I used new penny Stirke King Rage shrimp, the trout seemed to like it and the amazing thing was after 18 trout , 3 ladyfish, and ! bluefish the bait looked the same as when i took it out of the package. The material it is made out of it impressive, real stretchy! One final thought: Peanut butter and Jelly Uncrustables are the greatest fishing snack! Tight lines everyone and God Bless!

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

Absolutely a GOOD day! The barrel I was pulling them from did say Property of Jumptrout!!! The funny thing was I had to throw in an area no more than 10-15 yards wide and it was fish on! But anywhere outside that and nothing. Can't wait for them to grow up then its time for a fish fry!! Have a great day everyone!
