Lanark Spots Next Week?

Post by pastorterry »

We will be fishing Wed. Thur. and Fri. Next week. We Will be putting in at Lanark. What is the best bet for trout and then for Spanish? I was thinking Dog Island reef for Spanish and inside bird island plus turkey point for trout? Any other suggestions? What about behind Dog Island? This land locked fresh water guy could use some help!!!!!

Sounds like a sound plan, Terry. You're dialed in on some good spots.

Water temperatures are pushing 78 degrees already, so you might want to concentrate on the trout early. I've caught some nice ones out on Dog Island Reef on incoming tides, too.

Your right on based on my experience last weekend...
Back side of Turkey Point shoals also had good trout numbers.

Looks like the wind is going to blow. But maybe we can fish the inside spots. Thanks so much for your input.

Fished it Saturday from early high tide til about 1:30 (on the inside). No trouble spotting and catching Spanish . Only 3 keeper trout to 18". No reds. Hoped we'd do better, but from all the posts, seems we did pretty good.
