Allow myself to introduce... myself

Post by AndyJ »

Hi all,

Just a quick introduction. I'm new to the forum, but I've been around Tallahassee since 2003, fishing only casually since then. I just finally finished grad school at FSU, so now I've actually got time to do things like fish, golf, and generally enjoy life :o

Anyhow, I may very well be the single worst fisherman on the planet, but I'm looking forward to studying the forum and exploring the site. Hopefully I'll learn a few things along the way, and maybe I'll soon be able to catch something more than a cold while I'm out there.

I look forward to chatting with you all!

Welcome to the board AJ, never mind GRUMPTROUT, by the way, if you do not already know, everything in the Gulf of Mexico is JT's fishing holes which might explain why you can't catch fish. :-D

Haha, thanks... I just went & fished Piney Z from the fingers (7-9pm), but no dice. I was out with a few friends who go pretty regularly, and we all tried leaving nightcrawlers under small bobbers, pulling them across the top, I tried a popper & a small crankbait - nothing. Maybe it has something to do with the cold front coming through?

Welcome aboard AndyJ. You'll soon be catching more fish than most of the ones on this forum. Be sure to post your pictures and stories. Some days are slow. Fish with a ct in about 3.5 to 5 feet of water over long grass with a gulp shrimp on a jig head. Throw as far away from the boat as you can. You'll soon catch some fish.

Remember trout have soft tissue so don't set the hook like you were bass fishing.
