Spinning Reel Line

Post by pops »

Everyone has an opinion......what is the best line for a spinning reel?
I have been using Power Pro but maybe need to change brands.

Been trying out Zebco braid from WallyWorld. Much cheaper and so far no complaints or failures.

I HAVE BEEN USING ANDE MONO, 8 # TEST, HAS WORKED GREAT FOR THE LAST 20-25 YEARS. I USE THE BLUE LINE, CAN NOT SEE IT IN THE WATER.

If you like PowerPro, you should try the Suffix braid. I used to buy PowerPro until I tried the Suffix. Hands down the best braid out there. It's rounder than PowerPro, making for smoother casts and less tangles.

The new Suffix 832 is made for spinning reels. So they say. I think I will give this new line a try.

I like the new Sufix 832 so far but thus far this year, I've been throwing bait casters.

Can I put in a good word for Diamond Braid? I get it the blue Diamond Braid 15# spooled on at Kevins and I like it

Suffix Performance Braid is some very good stuff as well

I like Ande line on my baitcsaters but I don't fish mono on spinners anymore

I've had much better luck with all braid when it is put on by Kevns with their machine. Super tight and less twist than you get reeling it on a spinner. I use power pro 10# , but will try the 832 once Kevin's
gets a large spool.

Yeah, I've tried several braided lines, and like PowerPro (good) , Sufix Performance Braid (better)  , and Sufix 832 (best)   .

If you want to go hog wild :o , try some Daiwa Samurai braid. I like it a lot, but it costs a lot, too :-? . Sufix 832 compares well, at half the cost. :smt023

Stay away from Hi-Seas Wildfire braid. :smt078

Also, I've learned to appreciate hi-vis colors better than the lo-vis green. :smt115

I have been using the Power Pro also. I have been reading a lot about the Suffix 832. I decided to try it on my Ci4. Works great and the one wind knot I got pulled right out. It is much quieter than Power Pro and seems to cast better. The claim that it comes out of the water dry is also true.
I wish they had it in 15 # and in larger filler spools.

Another Sufix braid user. I use the 20lb most of the time. Haven't tried the new 832 yet.
