Reel Cleaning/Maintenance

Post by PerryFisherMan »

Where is the best place to have reels maintained in this area? I have a couple that are making some "dragging" noises, and I can't seem to get it to stop. I'm not confident enough to just take the reel totally apart.

Thanks in advance

I've been pleased using the rod and reel service through Kevins in Tall. I think its called Bill's rod and reel repair. I've also used Outdoors Inc. in Thomasville and been pleased. But they seem to be about to shut the doors on that place.

Theres also a bait and tackle shop in Moultrie that has reel repair. Heard good things about them. Maybe Chalk or somebody could fill you in on them.

That would be Larry's Bait & tackle....Think troutfisher has used him, I never have....I do my own surgery   ...I sent one into BassPro last year, they took in for a trade, so I can't comment on them either.

Check with your local tackle shops, if they don't do repair, they should be able to point you in the right direction.
