To continue...my Wife did a tremendous job of staying connected to the red. It went around the boat. It went under the boat. It took off towards the motor and purely by luck and the feeble action of the other party in the boat to raise the motor just as the monster went streaking by gave Her the opportunity to bring the giant to net using the only light spinning rig we had on the boat. So, with arms still trembling from the fight, She managed to lift the Behemoth up long enough for me to take a picture. I should also point out that since it was Her fish, I gave her the option of releasing it to the water or the cooler. Without heasitation, She said put it back and I hope it grows another inch and 5/8ths before anybody else catches it

5/30/11 Late Make Up with Pictures
I sort of piggy backed on Atticus's report from 5/28/11 that my wife and I had made a Sunday afternoon trip heading out of the Econfina on 5/30/11. I briefly indicated that we really didn't do all that much...with the exception that my Wife caught a nice 25 and 1/2 inch red and it got real skinny coming back in around 7:30 pm. Well, 2 or 3 days into the week, my Wife ask me if I had posted anything relating to Her fish
because She hadn't seen any report. I did have a camera and I did take a couple of pictures but since there were still 20 or so unexposed pictures on the roll (yeah...I still use a 35mm SLR) I used the unacceptable response that I wanted to get a few more pictures before I had them developed. NOTE TO SELF... If there is ONE picture of a fish caught by my Wife, it's worth every cent spent to develop the entire unused roll of film!

... and with out further ado here are the pictures to document the event. GOOD JOB MY DEAR

I understand Barry...but considering that you are a family man, and have exibited more than just a common level of intelligence (IMO) in my presence...I believe your better judgement would have carried the day.

Nice Bud. I understand the fish hatred Bud. My fishing partners never want to take pictures of my fish or spend time posting reports about them either. You'll get one for yourself next time
Nice fish Mrs. SR!

HEY BUD, GLAD YOU WERE ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I JUST WISH BABE WOULD GO WITH ME AGAIN, SINCE SHE HAD A MELANOMA REMOVED FROM HER CHIN, SHE JUST WILL NOT EVEN GET IN A BOAT. IT IS ALRIGHT TO DIG IN THE FLOWER BED,WITH A CHINA SUN HAT AND SHAWL AROUND HER NECK, LONG SLEVES ON THE SHIRT AND LONG PANTS, BUT SHE WOULDN'T DARE GET IN THE BOAT WITH THAT OUTFIT ON. WHATS THE DIFFERENCE. BABE USE TO FISH WITH ME AND THE 5 KIDS ALL THE TIME AT OUR PLACE DOWN ON LAKE GRANDIN, EVEN WENT SKIING, SWIMING, BOARDING ETC. SHE IS SCARED TO DEATH SHE MIGHT GET ANOTHER MELANOMA.
THAT IS ENOUGH, CONGRATS MRS. BUD
