You should of came RC and seen first hand. I tell ya I was expecting to see/meet some of you BBF guys but none ever showed. What's up with that??? I know lots of y'all fished the tourny down there. We gigged 45 flounder in 2 nights, I fished on a gteat captians boat ( wevans) and cought fish, Most won great raffle prizes, ate some of the best oysters and ate more of the best food than should be allowed. It was a great time had by all and lots of memories were made with great folks. Look forward to it next yr and hope some of y'all come.
BTW wevens won it with a 26.50" red caught on a piece of beefe jerkey in the river!

Ya'll should've come to C-Quarters and met up. Millard and the folks over there were very, very open to having us. They even opened up early for our check in & let us tie up their dock during weigh in. You can't ask for better than that.
I think the beer sales might have helped.

Re: WELL?? Where are the FS BASH reports?
Unofficial report from the 'far side' ....I would say the bash was a success, even with the light turnout.
We had a dozen or 15 participates (maybe a few more) at the low country boil on Friday evening. Excellent fare prepared by Seatrout99, Waterdog, and Brotherinlaw. The green cooler was there, but was only hit lightly. Lots of good conversation about weather, fishing, and an assortment of interestng subjects laced with moderate amounts of bs and humor. After the 'lcb' and at about 1030 til about 3am, BBB and son accompanied by micci_man, went flounder gigging, bringing to the hill 20 nice'uns.. When I heard the news, I knew, we would eat good Sat night.
The Saturday fishing was good, as best I could tell, having not fished. I will let the official guy cover the fishing. I do know, Dstockwell youngest was, parading around with a 'gater' trout, that any BBFN member would be proud of.. never heard the weight.
About 1900, Franklin Cty got some much needed precip in a large thundershower that produced .67" at my house, but spared Carrabelle town, leaving the bash uninterrupted, just as Dstockwell predicted.
The fried (to a tee) flounder (a lot of it), added to the grilled chicken and sausage, with all the trimmings (hushpuppies, baked beans, 'from scratch' mac n chez, crab balls, Steiner oysters oths),, as well as a second low country boil, was enough to feed 'pharaoh's army', and more than adequate for the 50 or so members, family, and guest, who attended.
After polishing off most of the eats, Bstockwell, assisted by his dad, awarded prizes to the winners of the tournie, as well as a variety of very nice donated prizes to the winning ticket holders. The grand prize, a very nice Cajun fryer, went home with Familyfisher. I, for one, was a little jealous (dang it). Con grates, Brad. (I will be adding one to my (cain't live without) inventory of cooking tools in the near future.)
After the drawing, the festivities continued, with most of the older crowd and those with family, drifting away, leaving only the hardcore. Myself and CA (aka wat'ser name) left about 10, only to get home and find "I" had left our two chairs. I was directed to return for them, only to find the party intensifying.
I felt that these 'dear friends' might need a chaperone, so I decided to stay the duration (in case I was needed). Of course, I had to join them in finishing off the green cooler. I didn't partake of the pineapple delights that were being passed around, though. We turned out the lights about 0130. I drove home very cautiously, and made it without incident.
Yeah, I'd say it was a success. Probably not the best, but a good'un. As I said, this is the unofficial report. Please forgive me for any half truths and innuendos. if I have misrepresented anyone or thing, I probably didn't mean to. Q
