Econfina 6-11-11

Post by Knot on Call »

New to this forum but enjoy reading the inshore reports so I figured I would post ours from Saturday. We fished from 630 to about 2 that afternoon mostly just out from rock island. It was a slow day. Most of our fish came before 10:00. We ended up with 2 trout (18 and 21 inch), 2 keeper rock bass, and one keeper spanish. They were all caught in 6 to 7.5 ft of water on gulps. It was a slow day but we had a good time. It seems like the trout bite this year is a lot slower than the past few years around this time.

Welcome to the site. We need you new guys posting reports to breathe some new life into the site. It seems like a lot of the older members don't post anymore. Probably because a few seem to belittle others for catching a fish....and eating it. :smt009 Keep posting.

I'd agree that the bite has been slow for the trout and reds. Actually I'm hearing of more folks catching Cobia than ever before. Odd thing is that haven't heard of the spanish showing up in good numbers eithers, or maybe I'm just not getting them. Been a strange year so far. Haven't been able to get any kings offshore and can't not catch a limit of Snapper though.
I don't know when I'm gonna catch my next fish but I know when I do it's gonna be awesome!

I agree it seems slower Knot, but at least you were fishing. Welcome aboard.
