We Be Slammin'

Post by woopty »

Left at dawn from Mashes Sands.
Rustled up some bait.
Set up a chum line in 25ft and put the first king ever in the boat. 36 inches.
Lost another one about 10 yards from the boat.

The cobia streak continued with a 38" champ who wouldn't give up.
After an impressive areal display, he doused me good with a tail slap from 10ft away.

Had several brutal, reel-draining runs.
Put a flounder and several spanish in cooler too.
Ended up with a smokin' run and spectacular jumps from a big spinner.
Of course the grouper bite was happening. Paroled several.
Now that's my favorite way to get sore arms!

Sure COULD be, PA! Fishing buddy Sharkman can attest that I looked that way after fighting a 35 pounder last year in the month of June :smt010. I actually shared a video of the fight in my post but edited out what I said after we landed the fish. Sat doubled over about to have a heart attack from heat stroke, and said these exact words, "That fish absolutely kicked my azz!" :smt005 Woopty actually looks a might bit better than I did so until he says otherwise I'm buying his tail-slap story! :-D

i whupped him quick cause I had him on a stout rod. He made me sweat for it, but I re-rigged in about 10 mins.
I have had them on a small rod in July absolutely whup my azz good enough to head to the hill.
I cherish the exhaustion.

Well, PA, he might have beat me up a bit but at least I can say I wasn't the one who went down for the count, got thrown in the ice box, and eaten for dinner!
