Sikes Cut Ramp

Post by GeorgeP »

Can anybody give me any information on the Sikes Cut ramp that is in the Plantation? I have seen boats launched there, but didn't pay to much attention. Will be staying on the plantation in about 3 weeks and wondered if I could launch there or do I need to go somewhere else.

You can launch there if you have a fourwheel drive truck and are not worried about getting stuck as long as you are staying in the plantation. There is a ramp (for shallow draft boats) across from Harry A's on the island. The next closest one is in east point, on N bayshore drive across from old dockferry rd.(not marked well). The best one and closest by water back to the cut is in applach accross the bridges.

I was just down there again, and they have put some shells out (florida asphalt), but they only go to the water line. Hope this helps.

Yes it does, since I have a front wheel drive vehicle, my drive wheels will be way up on the shells. I think I am going to have to try it at least once.

Thanks for the check. :)  :)
