Left the light house about 6:45 with my paw-in-law and wetjet. We caught about 2 dozen pinfish on the flats and went to marker 24. Expected bait on the marker and we got 1 cigar, 1 blue runner and 1 squirrelfish. Oh well. Went to 40 feet. Slime on the bottom but the fish bit OK. Hit 3 or 4 spots.

Slick as glass all day until about 2 miles out on the way in it got choppy. Brought home 5 grouper. Caught a bunch of shorts and sharks. Had a 30 pound cobia break me off then swim around on the surface with my pinfish, hook, and leader sticking out just to rub it in.

Fish never really got going good and when they did we were out of live bait. Ran slap out of bait and used 8-10 grunts cut up too. But I ran back in at 35 mph only touched the steering wheel a couple of times for 15 miles.

Nice day on the water.

If you don't go fishing next weekend sometime you might get the shakes.....I forgot to report that Tom soaked a pinfish and got broke off yesterday too...Then the fish proceeded to swim around the boat, with the CT just below the water.....So the fish were showing Tom who was the boss two days in a row :smt023 ...

Nice trip....

Good report. It was slick over at Dog Island, too. Boats all over the place, don't know if the fish bit, but you did well.

I think you are right. I should have slept in, had breakfast, got to the water about noon, caught pinfish for 2 hours then headed to the spot. Probably would have limited. But, you never know.
