Lanark

Post by filetandrelease »

I am heading down to Carrabelle to visit some friends possibly this weekend. I will be taking a small bay boat down. I have read good things about tarpon and reds out of Lanark. I was wondering what boat ramp is the best for inshore? Or is it close enough that I should just launch from Carrabelle? I have fished out of Carrabelle before, but never Lanark. I usually fish out of St. Marks. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Across from Lanark Village is the old store next to the Lanark Yacht Club and behind it is a ramp. I think it's $10 or so. It'll be jammed this weekend.

Thanks for the help, I am pretty sure I remember that place now. Are there any major obstacles to keep a look out for from that ramp. I have a pretty good GPS so hopefully that will help. Planned on the ramp being pretty bad. Do you know when the earliest you can launch is? Didn't know if you had to wait for the store to open to pay for the launch fee first.

You'll be waiting a long time store is not the owner of the ramp, and not open (yet) Sponge will be there early to take money, but if you beat him there is a drop box for your $10 you can launch anytime you want! we have flounder gigged out of there in the middle of the night.
