Gulps?
Has anyone had any luck with a particular color this year? I've been primarily using the white ones and occasionally using New Penny with mixed results. Just looking for other options to try in the Keaton Beach area.

Re: Gulps?
I had read somewhere that Electric Chicken was working in clear water. While I have had luck with New Penny and White, the Electrics did seem popular on the flats the last couple of weeks.

I did a number on the trout with the natural color on the flats. I heard somewhere you're supposed to use whatever color matches your environment - i.e. natural on flats, new penny over sandy/transition bottom, etc.

White works everywhere. A pretty good Captain explained why and it made dang god sense to me.

Care to expound? I agree that white works most of the time, but I don't have any good theories as to why. It's not because white is the only color he throws, is it?Reel Cowboy wrote:White works everywhere. A pretty good Captain explained why and it made dang god sense to me.

a cork sounds like a fish being hit. Any piece of falling meat is subject to a hit. The fish doesn't necessarily recongize a jerk shad, shrimp, etc, just a piece of falling meat. Same concept as letting a hit topwater lie and following with a free falling jerk bait.
