St Marks scallops

Post by wacissaguy »

Took the wife and one of her friends, we got a clean pint after about 3 hours, but the meats are really big this year, not many numbers, but big.Stopped at the sandbar on the way in and watched some of the hijenks--hi-light being a bunch of idiots who had renamed their seahunt boat by replacing the H with a C. and then proceded to bring out a blow-up sex doll to frolic with in the water. What in the heck is wrong with people. :(

There were some wild folks out there Saturday. Lots of folks leaving big wakes in the no wake zone. Wish FWC would spend more time there and less checkin people out scalloping. They could write more tickets and they would be well deserved. No wake means enough forward speed to maintain steerage, not back off the the throttle, just a little.
Ducks, turkeys, flats fishing. Who has time for golf?

HUGE flotilla at the sandbar this afternoon when I was heading in. I got checked by the man while I was cleaning scallops., and got a safety sticker. Of course some azz hole in a Sea Hunt w/a blue bottom had to be flying thru the armada of boats rafted up scalloping. For the most of the part of the day my kids jumped off the poling platform while I scalloped. When I looked up they were aboard the boat w/their mom....that kept my blood pressure down, but I still wont understand why other people do stupid sheet like that.
Got back to the hill and waited while some dude & his wife put their boat in. He backed it to the ramp, got out, & she jumped in the drivers seat. He proceeded to survey the situation, get a dip, install the plug, loosen the bow strap, & at this time must of realized he was holding everyone up since they decided to launch in the middle of the ramp because he started moving a little quicker.
That aside, we had a great day. Scallops are deep this year.
