MOONLITIN ST. MARKS 5-28-29

Post by ALMAR »

MY FISHIN BUDDY CANCELED OUT ON ME AT THE LAST MIN. I DECIDED TO GO IT ALONE. LAUNCHED THE BOAT AT 10:00 P.M., IT WAS JUST A LITTLE BIT BREEZY, I COULD NOT SEE THE PLUGS IN THE WATER FOR THE CHOP. TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR BUT FINALLY CAUGHT A SHORT TROUT. THE WIND DROPPED DOWN AND THINGS GOT A LITTLE BETTER, I CAUGHT 3 TROUT ON THREE CAST, 17,19, AND 24". THINGS STARTED TO LOOK A LITTLE BETTER, IT WAS ALMOST CALM AND THEN THE FOG ROLLED IN AND I AM GLAD I DIDN'T FORGET MY GPS. I WAS ABOUT A MILE EAST OF THE LIGHTHOUSE AND YOU COULD NOT SEE IT. DECIDED I HAD BETTER CALL IT A NIGHT AND EASED BACK TO THE RAMP AND LOADED THE BOAT. SINCE THE FOG ROLLED IN I DID NOT HAVE A GOOD COMPARISON TO KEATON, I THINK I WILL TRY KEATON AGAIN SUNDAY NIGHT. CAUGHT 3 KEEPERS, AND ONE SHORT AND THAT WAS IT FOR 3 HRS. OF FISHING, NOTHIN LIKE WE DID OVER AT KEATON.

Maybe it was the fish gods were unsettled Saturday night, cause we took two boats out of Keaton on Sat night with about the same results. I just thought we were to green to the night fishin scene.
