Panacea 05-31-04

Got out early expecting a large crowd at the ramp, looks like most folks wisely stayed home. Worked the flats until the noon high tide, put 3 trout on ice, released a few shorts and couple of sharks. Pitched a jig to what appeared to be a legal cobia, no hook up. Idled back in with a 20 kt wind and tight 2 footers. Fishing partner's 162 Scout performed well (only one wave over the bow). Glad I left the bass tracker at home, otherwise we'd have been reef material.

I was out there fishing out of Bottoms SB, in the ol Redneck :o We left around 11 with only 1 keeper "caught about 2 dozen shorts" :( It didn't seem that bad so long as we stayed out of the deeper water "other than drifting at around 10 MPH" Glad ya'll had some luck and got back in safely

We fished around Panacea and caught limits of Trout both Saturday and Monday. Saturday we released three over 20" and Monday one over 20". The biggest Trout we caught Monday was 23", Most caught before the tide got high and the wind strong.
If we were all crazy, Wouldn't that make us all normal.
