Panacea Trout and Blues...

Post by bman »

Got out with my dad and our friend Claude for a quick trip this morning.
There was a lite chop at sunrise with the wind blowing from the north and tide falling.
Pulled up to the same area we caught them in last week and fish were still there.
Started with ladies and trout... then Dad caught something interesting ;-)

Claude unhooked it and it flew away unharmed.

The rest of the morning was all me- It was one of those strange days were one guy catches all the fish.
We were all fishing with the same things- Topwater and Gulp but they liked mine better :-D
You can see the sheepish look on dads face... ;-)
Image
I caught all the keeper fish- Four Blues, Five Trout and a bonus Flounder.

I caught the flounder last thing... they were so frustrated with me they would not even help net it :smt005

I'm taking it while I can because I know next time he will put it to me!

I liked it so much, I bought the company ;-)

HEY BARRY, THAT IS A DECENT MESS OF FISH. I BET THOSE LARGER BLUES GAVE YA A FIGHT. LAST YEAR I WAS DOWN ON THE INTERCOSTAL AT PALM BEACH AND CAUGHT BLUES TIL MY ARM FELT LIKE IT WAS GONNA FALL OFF. THE LARGEST ONE I KEPT AND WEIGHED HER, CAME IN AT 9#, REALLY GAVE ME A GREAT FIGHT. AFTER ABOUT 10 MIN. OUT OF THE WATER, I PUT HER BACK IN AND SHE SWAM AWAY LIKE NOTHING HAD EVER HAPPENED.

Gulps for Gulls. Sounds like they ought to go together anyway. I've caught a few Gulls over the years. Strange fighting something on the end of you line that dives up instead of down when they make a run. :-? Good catch. How do you cook the Blues? We only grill or smoke them. Great grilled.
