econfina tourny question

econfina tourny question
I have never fished in a trout tournament so Im just trying to clear a few things up. I know the rules say you weigh one persons legal limit of 5 trout one over 20 inches. if we have 4 people fishing in the boat can we keep 20 trout and weigh em them all and use the 5 best weights or do we have to just keep what we think are our 5 best trout weight wise and just release the others, and is it legal to have a scale on board? might be stupid questions but id rather ask them now then assume im doing something right and make a fool of myself out on the water.

You can keep up to 20 if you have 4 people on the boat (legal boat limit) but you can only weigh in 5 (1 person legal limit). Having a scale on board is a good idea for deciding which 5 to weigh, but remember that the tournament scales are the official weight. If a trout weighs 4# on your scale but 3.5# on the tournament scales, then that's a 3.5# trout. No arguments.

ok that makes sense reelcowboy thanks alot. Another quick question is that can you launch from a diff ramp then where the tournament is held. Can someone sign in at the econfina and launch out of the aucilla or the lighthouse.

No this tournament you will have to launch from Econfina.
