Shimano Stradic CI4

Post by Ron Wilson »

Is anyone using the CI4 - if so, any feedback on this reel? Thinking of buying one.

Thanks in advance.

Great reel, cast easy, smooth drag system, works well for me with 20lb braid. I have fished with it for about the last five or six months and would buy another one without hesitation.

love mine. The light weight makes working plugs all day effortless.

I don't own one but the ones I've used were smooth on the cast & retrieve. Very well built but super light as well. Given the construction material, they should hold up very well in the salt for a long time.

Used one once. Good reels. Didn't think it was twice as good as others I've used but the price is twice as much (or more). Over priced if you ask me but then again I'm a cheapskate!

Thanks everyone. I like my Stradic FI's. Noticed they are being offered at a $20-$30 discount at either Bass Pro or Cabela's (can't recall which). Am in debate whether to pick up another FI and save some $ or go for the CI4. Might go with extra couple dollars and get the CI4

The Stradic FIs are being replaced in the 2012 model year by the retro white Stradics. That's the reason for the sale. I have a set of four FIs and they have held up well with the exception of the drag clickers (which were an easy repair).

Can't go wrong with either one. It really boils down to weight and cost.
