Ecofina 9/25/11 report

Post by Hit-n-Miss »

:-D Hit Ecofina landing at 7:00 with my son and friend Daniel and headed out. The tide was as low as I will attempt to get out with my boat(.9). Had to idle out the mouth and got to fishing. Daniel took my to school having 4 trout in the box before I got one. Even my boy caught trout before I did. The pinfish were really annoying today so I sent some of them back on a hook. This yielded mostly sharks. But did get one trout and a 4' gar. Was going to get pic of it but it would not fit in a trout net. Water was 78-79degrees and clear everywhere. As much as I hate buying them gulps were all the wanted(in any color) but glow was best. Wound up with 15 trout to 18" and 3 big seabass. We had to work for for them and wade thru many shorts. Caught more lizard fish and other trash fish than I had ever seen. Had a great day and now we are going to have a fish fry.

He was referring to going out mouth on plane instead of idling. Just hit WOT, stay in channel and pray!!! LOL been there many times...drove right by boats that "idled out" and hit bottom....

I have felt the moter tick the inside bar at 1.5' tide and did not want to chance it. Figured I could idle with moter tilted up safer.

Hitting a rock wot does a lot more damage than it does just bumping it. I was also saying nicely why the SA comment on HitnMiss's post. Great job HitnMiss, Some people like RC are just jealous they can't catch a nice stringer of trout like you guys did.
