Garmin 541s

Is there an adaptor that you can plug into it from the wall, so you can load gps numbers at home? Or does any one have suggestions for that?

Don't know if it fits the 541 or not, but Garmin makes an adapter the plugs into the wall that powers the gps through an 8-pin (i think, maybe an 18-ploe) round plug, and a cord that goes to serial port on your computer. I think the model number is 010-10276-00. I have one you can test fit if you want.
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

The 541 Has an SD card slot. You can transfer your points from your computer to your 541 with a card. You have to use MapSource to transfer the data whether you use a card or transfer directly to the unit.

With the 541 turned off, insert a blank SD card into the slot. Turn the unit on. The unit will format the card for data transfer. Put that card in your SD card reader on your computer. If you don't have an SD card reader you can buy one at Wal-Mart for about $20. It inserts into any USB port. Transfer your waypoints from MapSource to the SD card. Put the SD card back in the 541 and your data is there.
What was I supposed to do today?

Good advice from Tin Can, except the Wal-Mart part. Wal-Mart corporate is actively supporting organizations that advocate No-Fishing Zones and a national boycott is underway to make them see the error of those ways.

Buy a SD card reader from Radio Shack or Best Buy instead and help protect our fishing rights.

Thanks for the reminder SK, I have been anti WalMart for a long time now. We need to get back to supporting the mom and pop business that built this country anyway.
