What's up with Bald Point?
Current wind at Bald Point is N at 19mph.(unless their wind gauge is broken)
All other coastal winds East and West of Bald Point are 0 to 4 mph.

WHOSE FISH IS IT?
Re: Another WIND question
JT, if you are looking at Wx Underground, that report is from a 'personal weather station" and is wrong on the high side, particularly the gust factor. The guy needs to adjust the output with his software.
Try this app, if you haven't already, for multi-station reports (16 in my case) along the coast from Perry to PC and inland.
Weather Exchange - http://www.ambientweather.com/weex1.html
Otherwise, the one at the Marine Lab update every 5-10 minutes and looks to be accurate. http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstat ... ?ID=MC4103

Re: Another WIND question
This is one I use for Alligator Bay:
http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/fin ... ea+florida
Although it may say Panacea or Bald Point it is located at 40' on the water tower just west of the old KOA on AlPt. I've check it while on the Point and it appears to be correct.

Re: Another WIND question
GT, that url doesn't work for me.
The Wunderground.com Wundermap - shows all reporting stations- PWS, MADIS, and airports on it. I don't see another one on the Point, besides the AP/Bald Point site JT's talking about. I do see a RAWS Station labeled as Panacea located between Surf Rd and Otter Lake. You sure that not the one you are referring to? Take a look here and zoom in if needed. http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/? ... ea%2c%20FL Click on the temp/wind indicators to get the stations ID/info, etc.
Not trying to be arbitrary with ya, GT... just wondering, if you see something I don't.
I own and maintain the station, which reports Carrabelle (City of St George) for Wunderground. I'm about 4 miles NW of the East Pass. I check my station daily and adjust it as needed. It's pretty accurate. http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/fin ... 99999&MR=1
Click on the station link to get the graphs and stats. My biggest problem is keeping my Wx Cam up and running.

Re: Another WIND question
Thanks for the link to the station map. Have not seen it before and am sure it will be useful to me and other BBF users. Perhaps inacurate was my assumption that the only way a reading at 40' above SL in the area would have at the water tower or perhaps the telephone tower on Alligator Point Road. Forgot to mention that wind speed at that elevation may not be the same as surface readings.
