Lowrance and Navionics ????s

Post by SHOWBOAT »

My Lowrance LCx27c has died....

I called Lowrance, and they don't really repair these units. However, they do offer substantial discounts on parallell or high level HDS units. The parallell unit would be and HDS7. That unit comes with Nuatic mapping but nothing more. Has anyone used one of these base units and is it sufficient for your purposes? If you enhanced with Navionics, what level Navionics?

Thanks in advance.

Bow'd Up has the upgraded version and it's pretty dang cool. I think it came loaded with Navioncis Gold but I'm not sure.
It works pretty well the same way as the unit you have/had but with a few slight differences.

I had the same problem Showboat. The Lowrance Nautic base mapping is similar to Garmin's Bluechart. The Navionics chips will definitely add more detail. I had the Gold version and it was worked very well. From what I've seen, you don't get that much more by jumping to the Platinum chip.

A guide buddy of mine in Sebastian loves his HDS7.
