Live Bait

Post by Once Bitten »

Without giving away too many secrets...can anyone tell me where to catch some live bait off of Mashes Sands. I'm spending too much time trying to track down a live pinfish. The frozen stuff just isn't the same.

Thank you! in-advance

You should be able to catch live pin fish anywhere there is 3 to 5 feet of water and grass on the bottom. I'm not that familiar with Mash's Sands, but I'm sure it can't be much different than Panacea, or Bottoms. Try a small piece of squid, or FishBites on a bream buster with a #12 hook.

Hope this helps.

I had the same problem a few weeks ago since I normally don't put in there. Since then people have told me to go out to the shoals and I could catch all the pinfish I want. That would be east-souteast of the southern channel coming out of the river where you see grass mixed with sandy bottom. Fish in the grass because that's usually were the pinfish hang out.
I must fish.
