Any good reports?

Post by MuleTrainGA »

Im looking to take my pops fishing this weekend and I'm pondering where to go. Last weekend was ruined by the gail-force winds :smt012 but this weekend looks a little more promising. I've narrowed it down to three places: Carrabelle, St. Marks, and Ecofina. With the third being my more prominent choice. Just looking to catch some trout and maybe a redfish or two. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Um... might have been a little unclear on my post but I wasn't asking for weather conditions(I assume by noaa you mean the national oceanic and atmospheric administration). I was just asking if any of the anglers on this site has had any success in these three areas lately. Sorry if it seems was asking for meteorological conditions. Thanks for the helpful post anyway!

TROUT AND REDS ARE BITING E. OF ECONFINA IN SHALLOW WATER. HAVE HAD 4 FRIENDS FISH THERE JUST BEFORE THE WINDS STARTED AND ALL CAUGHT THEIR LIMITS OF TROUT & REDS. THEY WERE USING CUT BAIT AND CAUGHT SEVERAL HUNDRED HARDHEAD CAT FISH AS WELL.

Nice! It seems like everyone I've talked to in the past 3 weeks has said something about great fishing at econfina. I guess since the water temp is dropping the fish must be moving back up to the shallow water outside the mouth. I think that post was enough to make my decision for me. Econfina it is!!!!! Thanks Futch!

Go to the inshore saltwater report section. There are a few from ecy and st marks. I don't think you can go wrong at either place. Good luck

During the summer i was able to go during the weekdays at least twice a week to beat the weekend warriors. However, since fall semester started I have to go to school four days a week and work on friday. Even if the crowd is there I think it will be the best choice. I havent had much success at st marks this season but have fished carrabelle dozens of times with alot of success.

I agree with BBG, it is probably way too crowded at the Econfina AND St. Marks. Your best bet might be Carrabelle after all. ;-)
