Wakulla Beach 6-5

Post by littlered16 »

Launched at 6:30. Tried hard baits and jigs, but all that worked was pinfish under a CT. Total of 7 keepers from 16 to 20in. Hooked one 'big' fish that cut the 40lb leader in a matter of seconds. All fish caught on the outgoing tide in 4-5ft. Headed home by 2:30.
Any ideas on what the 'big one' might have been? He messed around at the top trying to get the CT before he found the pin under it. When I set the hook he cut across the water faster than about anything I've caught. So fast the line was screeming where it met the water. Only on for about 10 sec. I'm thinking shark or cobe.

If it cut a 40 lb leader right off I would say shark.

Could have been a nice sized Spanish, or a shark.
