Econfina 10-22
Got a rare chance to slip down to Econfina on Friday. Took my dad and brother with me. It was a little cold but a fun trip overall. Left Leesburg at 4:50 and it was 36 degrees. Got in the water at 7:15 and it was 40. After a chilly ride out of the mouth of the river, we started fishing for reds with not much luck. Managed a couple of good hits but none of them made it to the boat. They were there but we kept spooking them - my dad had a stroke a while back and struggles casting so theres a lot of noice, but I enjoy taking him with me. Decided to go out and try our hand at landing some trout and it started out slow as well, BUT around 11am they turned on and didn't stop. We had a 3 man limit by 1:30. We caught a ton of shorts as well, along with one spanish, lizards, and lady. Decided to call it a day around 2:30 , when my dad said he was tired of pulling all of those fish in, and head in and I'm glad we did..that river didn't have much water in it and the low was supposed to be around 4:30. I kept it open and on plane and made it back with no issues, but I was praying the whole time. Great day on the water spending time with family and by the way it was 70 degrees when we pulled out!! Beautiful day to say the least.

That's a great place to fish and it sounds like you had a blast... I'll have to try more praying the next time I launch there at low tide.... so far it hasn't helped much.
Life is short.... Ride a Harley and fish a Sea Pro

A good report. Especially the part about your dad. You are a good son!
