A Mystery....Why No Food

Post by Fisherman989 »

I have been trout fishing at least 8-10 times since the season opened in March 2004. Mainly to Keaton Beach...Econfina....Aucilla. Limited out sometimes....caught a few everytime. Got 2 five pounders at Keaton...several 3-4 pounders....and all inbetween. Here is the mystery....only 1 of all the speckeled trout I have caught all year.....had anything what-so-ever in their bellies. They had not been feeding on anything. I've cleaned at least 50...none had been eating. Even back when they were fat with eggs...nothing.
Anyone have any ideas??

Same thing...

Out of the 50+ fish that I've seen, only 1 had a small crab in it's belly, very early in the season...

Interesting....
