More St. Marks Trout

Post by fishinfool »

The day started around 07:45. I took my sister out for a long promised trip. The plan was to put her on a few Trout early, then as the tide came in a little I would try to find her a heart stopping Redfish.
The early Trout bite was very slow. We headed in for the Redfish. That too was slow, actually non existent. I must have been in the wrong spot, because the weather and tides were perfect.
A little after high tide I decided sis needed a pull on her line. I took her to some beautiful spotted bottom area near Palmetto Island and rigged us up a gulp and CT combo. It did not seem to matter what color we used the Trout were hungry. We caught around 20 shorts and probably 10 keepers up to 18". The 18" swallowed the hook and died before I could get him in the water. That was the only fish brought home.
Sis had a wonderful time and I was glad I could get her on the water. Here are a couple of pics of her early catches.
