FISHING ST. MARKS, NOT CATCHIN

Post by ALMAR »

THE TOW OLD MEN OF THE SEA LAUNCHED THE BOAT AT THE LIGHTHOUSE POOL THIS MORNING AT 6:30 A.,M. WENT OUT TO THE BAR IN FRONT OF THE LIGHTHOUSE AND WORKED IT HARD, CARL CAUGHT 1 SPANISH ABOUT 28-30", THIS TURNED OUT TO BE THE ONLY FISH PUT IN THE BOX TODAY. WE WORKED THE AREAS WE GENERALLY FISH AND DID NOT CATCH THE FIRST TROUT THAT WAS LEGAL. WE HAD FUN CATCHING LADYFISH, JACKS, AND A FEW SHORT TROUT. WE HAD MANY SHORT STRIKES, THEY WERE NOT HUNGRY. WE THREW EVERYTHING WE HAD IN THE TACKLE BOX AND THE FISH JUST WERE NOT THERE. THE ONLY THING WE CAUGHT ON THE DOA WAS A CATFISH, WE DISPOSED OF HIM PROPERLY, BILLY CLUB TO THE HEAD.
BY 10:30 IT GOT SOOOOOO HOT WE DECIDED TO CALL IT A DAY , LOADED THE BOAT AND BACK TO TALLY.     :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Not too incouraging...since I'm headed for Aucilla tomorrow. Had in mind to fish over toward the Light House....but now don't know.
We're on that difficult quarter moon that I intensely dislike.....but last month...same time (on the moon) was as good as it gets over Aucilla way. We fished over toward Econfina then....so....with your luck in mind....I'll probably fish over that way again. :-?

It's still good to hear your report ALMAR, even when the bite isn't there for you. :D  Makes those great reports seem even better and we know we're hearing about real fishing, when we hear both sides. Thanks.
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".
