Love fishing in the winter - it becomes more of a gentleman's sport aka I can sleep in late
Lil Chalk had been wanting to go and the wind has been blowing for what seems like month's down here. The wind forecast was estimated for 10-15 out of the east...we went. The fishing calendar said there was a big bite at first light..didn't make that ...good bite from mid morning til after lunch. This lined up with the tide changing and the moon coming up. In a nut shell it worked out just like I planned it. We didn't catch anything until the tide turned and then the bait and birds started moving and keep going until the moon was about at 10:00.
Ended up catching 5 or 6 reds and a few trout on Exudes and SWA (KyCarpHnter secret color). Was really surprised at the few number of reds seen...if we saw them they were caught.
Boat ran great...good day on the water with Lil Chalk...been fishing twice in two weeks...that is a record of late
Atta boy buddy! Hunt em down and coral them up for me and Hard Knox so we won't waste time searching when we get there. Hopefully sometime around the Robert E. Lee birthday weekend in January. Federal employees still get a long weekend off then don't they?
Dang it if Lil Chalk ain't getting bigger than you! Next thing it'll be "Hey Dad can I borrow your boat? Got a hot date with a school of Reds."
